Solid PTFE Back-up Rings

Solid PTFE Back-up rings are the basic model of the back-up rings which are used along with O-rings to avoid extrusion in high pressure transactions. Whenever an O-ring is installed as a sealant, they tend to enter the clearance gap during specific transfers and in order to make sure that they stay in place, these additional components are used.

They can be manufactured using different base materials but PTFE continues to be the most preferred of the lot because of the practical advantages that it offers. They have excellent and high levels of resistance against all types of chemicals, gases and liquids. These materials can withstand high pressure and high temperature which makes them reliable.
